I can use the usb to serial adapter to link to a desktop with ME but when I try set up on my daughter's laptop with XP I can not get a connection. I have activesync 3.5 and have downloaded the driver for the Belkin adapter that I have but still...No Joy! Any one out there got any ideas?

Nothing specific, but some general ideas. Be sure to try both usb ports if you have them. Try the serial port on the laptop to be sure the laptop works with the Jornada.
Uninstall/reinstall the usb drivers and then activesync. I've had some problems with active sync off and on. Also if you had a previous activesync when you installed 3.5 that may be the problem. Be sure to uninstall and reboot before putting 3.5 in.
I'd wait on this to see if you get more specific answers from someone smarter than I :-)

Thanks. I've tried most of that. The problem is my new laptop does not have a serial port. Most new ones don't . I guess I may have to get a newer PDA.

Sheeeesssshhh guess that tells you how far behind I am. Have wondered why they haven't dropped the parrallel/serial ports but had no idea they were up to that.
I'd bug the pda support folks and see if they can work it out for you. I know that is not a pleasant prospect for most folks :-( the way support is these days.
