I have a 615 and it seems that the battery doesnt last long at all and i dont use it alot. Is there a known battery issue? How long should it take before it gets to 50% battery life? Please email me back responses :)

Because it's fairly new, we're all learning about the Clie' and what we can expect. If you're coming off a monochrome Palm machine you're going to find battery life is much shorter than say...your old Vx. We're entered the world of color and "backlights" and faster processors so we're going to trade battery life for perks.
A friend in another forum said that he got his T615C to run continuously for 8-10 hours with backlight midway between darkest and lightest. That's a long time for something you can use in total darkness OR sunshine, offers 320X320 resolution color and is fast.
Is it for just EVERYONE? It's certainly not a M105 and it's not a Vx kinda machine but for those of us who have moved part of our PC into our pockets and into the field and rely on it's memory, functionality and useablity, it's a great machine. You'll just power up and sync every day or every OTHER day if you're in and out of it all the time. Not a big price to pay for all that.
If you expected a color Vx...it's not available yet.

(1) turn the backlight way down -- i usually run it at about 20% and it's fine in all kind of light (except for photos, which require more backlight to appreciate the hi res detail).
(2) load afterburner and underclock the processor for most operations (i do this when i am on the road and can't recharge as often).
(3) buy a battery recharger. sony sells one that works w/ AA and there are a couple (Seido sells one, Brando another) that work w/ 9V batteries

Try using an overclocking applications like tornado or afterburner (to actually get anything out of them, you will need to be the registered verision.) It just like overclocking your PC. These programs not only allow you to overclock, but also UNDER-clock, therefore improving batter life. Of course a major problem with the batter is the fact that the brilliant color screen is barely visibile without backlighting, even in the best of lighting conditions. Hopefully they will rectifiy the dependency of backlighting in the next year or so. But it is not a problem specific to the clie your alternatives or non-existant.

You can download it from palmgear.com and other sites. However, you will need the "parent" program, either X-Master, or Hack Master, for it to run. I recommend X-Master as it's newer and has less glitches. Load it first, then load Afterburner. Then go into X-Master, set Afterburner to the speed you want, etc... ad you are done.
