My 6035 has started to do a couple of strange things and I'm hoping that there is an easy fix. One of my main problems is that when the unit is completely turned off, the Palm portion should come on when I open the flip. Unfortunately, it comes on if the phone is touched in anyway, flip open or closed. It was off and as I set it down on my desk gently to type this, it came on. If I push the flip slightly to the left (in the closed position) it goes back off. My 2nd problem is that when I am in phone mode (VerizonWireless) sometimes I cannot shut down and actually have to remove the battery in order to turn the phone off. With the flip shut, the four icon buttons at the bottom of the phone work, and the numbers in the number pad work, but the green and red phone upper icons will not work, hence pressing the red phone and holding down does not power the unit off. After I remove and reinsert the battery, all is well. This happens every now and then. The Palm activating on its own is now happening constantly. I am assuming there is a mechanical problem with the flip and hope someone can point me in the direction of a quick fix. Thanks very much.
My 6035 had flip-related problems. I took it to Sprint and they replaced it. You might try your service provider, but as this model has been discontinued, replacement may not be an option. I saw another posting that said Staples has them for $60. Someone else said Dillard's had them for $99 or $149. I bought a replacement on e-bay for slightly more recently because I was in a hurry and that was all I could find. If you can stand it that long, there's a new model 7135 coming out in the fall. Might also try cleaning the flip contact points with alcohol. I'd probably use a q-tip, not too wet, with the battery out and give it time to dry before re-installing the battery.

I've had intermittent problems with my 6035 like you have described. Mine have generally been solved by performing a soft reset of your phone. To do this,
1) perform a hot-sync to save your data.
2) take your battery out and press in the reset button with the stylus, holding it in for 5-10 seconds.
3) The phone should direct you to go through the setup process, recalibrating the unit by tapping at certain points on the screen.
If this does not work, try a hard reset--
1) repeat step 1 above
2) repeat step 2, but this time hold in the top button at the same time as the reset, holding the top button until the phone turns on.
Note--this will likely require you to reprogram the phone completely, meaning that you will probably need the assistance of your phone service provider--just like when you first activated the phone
Note also-- my 6035 service provider is sprint pcs--I dont see why this would change the mechanical reset process or anything, but just so that you know....
