I have a Series 7 upgraded to a netBook which has revolutionised the way I work until this afternoon when it crashed and I stupidly managed to wipe the entire memory.

Now when I start it up it just shows the work netBook and a message to insert a "bootable CF card" or "start the Rominst application".

A thorough search of my computer paraphernalia reveals I have neither and am currently left with a dead machine. I have a bit of paper with instructions of how to download the netBook OS from the PsionTeklogix website but I can't find the relevant download anywhere and assume they have removed it.

Can I download it from somewhere else or can I buy one of these Compact Flash cards to insert straight into my stricken machine? In short, how do I get the thing working again?

Yours in hope,

Journo.

It's a good idea to acquire a CF card specifically to hold the netBook OS and nothing else - a 16MB one should suffice, and they are not too costly nowadays.

Download the OS from the link given to you by Mike, use a card reader/writer to transfer it to the CF disk, making sure that you rename the file to "OS.IMG" and locate it in the root of the CF.

Insert the CF when prompted by the Psion and the OS should load, then you will be able to restore your own data from backup.

I hope you get it sorted!

I have to say with Psion's desire to move and even remove this page for lengths of time, and the general issue of access to SDKs, OPXs, OXHs etc being splattered across multiple sites, yet most aren't even available from the main homepage, can I suggest someone sets up a website which can host all of these files before they are lost - that way we can direct people to that one single webpage for all downloads.

I know people like Eric Lindsay have very good websites for information and general product links, but I think a dedicated Psion developer website actually hosting the files can't be a bad thing.
