Agreed! I have been delaying getting a NetBook due to NetBook Pro's impending launch. However, if it is CE only, then I will pass and get a "classic" NetBook instead. Anyone at Psion Tek care to drop a hint on the chances of Symbian being offered as an option? On the other hand, would it be possible to do a brain-transplant by swapping the personality module (if the Pro has one) with a NetBook?

Hi Stargazer,

If you have a read of the other threads, you will see that PsionTeklogix will not be releasing this with anything other than Win CE.net. If you have a read of the specs you will also note that it will not be shipped with normal office applications as found on ER5. This product is not designed for consumer release and will not be readily available although we may be able to get our hands on it somehow. With regards to swapping personality modules, this will not be possible but then even if it was the ER5 operating system was not written with this motherboard in mind. There are no drivers for the sound chipset or the USB ports let alone the rest.

I think that a visit to your nearest netBook stockist may be the order of the day.

I'm not sure what you mean by the NetbookPro not shipping with "normal office applications". From the specs I've read, it will have the normal CE.NET office programs including Pocket Outlook, Pocket Word, and Pocket Excel. I wouldn't argue that these are the equal of the same ER5 applications but they serve the same purpose nonetheless.
