I recently purchased a 1945 and am not very efficient at using it. I have a 256mb SD card and am having trouble putting music on it. What is the best to do this? So far, I have been syncing the desired songs into my main memory and then copying them to the SD card. The problem is that I can only do about 4 songs at a time because they take up too much of the main memory. Also, I'm having trouble deleting the files from the main memory after I've copied them to the card. There has to be an easier way. I'm begging for help.

On your regular computer....Double click on "My Computer", double click on "Mobile Device", double click on "Pocket PC", double click on "SD Card" .

Now you can drag and drop songs directly onto the card.

The other option (though slower) is to use Media PLayer 9 on your regular computer and use the "Copy to CD or Device" feature.

Thanks, Zack. That worked great. I owe you one.

If you add an autorun.inf file with the following text in it, and turn autorun on you will automatically run media player when you put the card in.

[autorun]
open=\windows\player.exe

How do you create an autorun.inf file? Is it simply a text file renamed autorun.inf or is there special formatting that needs to be done to the file? How do you turn autorun on the iPAQ on? Can you go one step further and have the player open and start a particular file? For example I put movies on my memory cards and would like the player to open and start the movie when I insert the card.

Thanks for the tip I was unaware this was possible.

On the chance that WM2003 does support Autorun I created a autorun.inf file with a freeware utility I downloaded. I then transferred the autorun.inf file to the root of the SD card. When I insert the card nothing happens.

I did find out that a program called FlashFormat 2.60 claims to be able to turn autorun on via the memory card. Anyone use this program before? I downloaded it but have not installed it yet.

Thanks

I was unable to get the autorun.inf file that I put on my storage card to work when the storage card was inserted (probably something I did wrong).

Using FlashFormat and its Autorun option though I could get the autorun to work when the SD card was inserted. It appears that FlashFormat creates a embeddedVC++ program called Autorun.exe into a folder which is named with a number I assume is the identifier for ppc processor. Works great, now I need to figure out how to get PocketMVP to start the movie automatically when it is started by the Autorun.exe file.
