addresses from Eudora to Palm P

Ok, I know that the Zire cannot email and I hope to never have to get the PalmPilot that does (forbid I have time for life). But when I travel I need to have my emails with me for emergencies and contacts during my summer fieldwork projects. So I downloaded the Eudora conduit file. I see on the palm pilot web site that the Eudora conduit does not work with the address book, but when I tried to use the Eudora conduit on my Zire it wouldn't work. Why not? And will the Eudora conduit put the emaill addresses into my address book where the email address space is in the Palm Pilot address book?
