Ok, this is becoming a real pain. My 2215 is great, and lightyears away from any Palm-based device I've owned in the past, but...

When I disconnect it from my car charger and switch it off - IT WON'T SWITCH BACK ON AGAIN! Does it have an affinity with my car and complain when the two are parted? Who knows. I've tried various 'disconnect sequences' (switch off power whilst car still running, disconnect power supply before switching off, switch off before disconnecting power supply etc.) and in random cases it doesn't lock up.

Have you had this problem? Continual soft resets are a pain. I'm planning to experiment for the correct 'disconnect sequence' which avoids lockup, and I'll let you know what I come up with.

Are you using the HP car adapter or a third party one? I bought a third party kit which includes a USB charger, AC adaptor and car adaptor all in one. The usb sync/charger and the AC charger works fine but I have never tested the car adaptor (never had the need). Just curious.

I'm using an HP car charger (well, it has an HP label on it). I just ran some quick tests and no combination of connecting, switching on/off and disconnecting caused it to lock up. It looks like the problem only happens when the IPAQ has been connected to the car charger for some time. Might it be an overheating problem?

I've never had any problems with my desk charger.

Does it only happen with the car charger? Try it with the ac adapter.

Just been looking at the TomTom one, looks quite good it's also still compatable with their GPS unit :D
