directory for Instillation of software for IPAQ

I recently tried to install some software on my IPAQ and it wanted to install to my PC by default. (I downloaded the software for a trial) When installing I get the chose destination of install dialog box. It defaults to C:\Program Files\yada yada software\ Pocket PC Is this correct? Does it install first to the PC before it goes to the IPAQ?

If I remember correctly..with certain software applications they will be first decompressed on the Local Workstation, then deployed to the PDA via Activesync. I can't tell you what applications do this or not, all I can say I discovered this whilst trying to build an installer package for Afaria. Turns out the Software I wanted to push deply wouldn't push. It required installation on the Desktop :(

I went ahead and tried it and it worked just fine. I was just a bit nervous since my job depends on my computer running well, I am always concerned about adding someting that will make it unstable. The software actually went right to the PDA when I installed it.
