You need to do a "hard reset", it will wipe all add-on stuff from your palm, and leave it with the out-of-box programs. Hold down the power button, press the pinhole button in the back of the palm, keep holding the power button for a few more seconds then let go. It should give you a screen that says "Erase all data?" and press up to finish.
If this doesn't work, look for hard reset instructions on palm.com.
You might also want to try "Crash" a handy application that automatically resets your palm after a crash, it is a GREAT app if you soft reset a lot.

Well, if you did a hard reset, it would have wiped out all data, so there would be no passwords still stored on it, but if you hotsynced again after you did the hard reset, then it may have restored the password. One question: can you actually use it, or are you completely locked out of it? The password would probably be the same as your desktop one.

PDASRock is on the right trial.
When you did the hard reset did you see the Question: Erase all data? And then you pushed the scroll up key? If so PDASRock is correct you should have been passed the password. I fyou personally never passworded this unit then you are experiencing some very strange stuff.
Consider the following: go on your PC hard drive, look for the Palm folder. Go into the Palm Folder look for a folder with your hotsync name or at least part of it. Open that folder go the the folder named "BackUp" and rename it "ABackup". Close out of the folders. Do the Hard Reset. Hold the "power on" button after the reset pin until you see the Palm Logo on your screen. Let go of the power button and when asked push the scroll up button. Now you should have a clean Palm. If so do, then it is time to do a hot sync. If it was correctly reset you will be ask which Identity to sync to. Choose the one you use and go.

Glad to help, but now I have a question: DrMud, exactly what would "ABackup" do, as opposed to the regular backup? Is this simply a way of stopping the restoring process? Or does it modify the process? I've never heard of this idea before. Thanks.

Hi PDASRock,
The folder could have been renamed anything. "ABackup" is simply an easy name for people to create a new name and to remember the name. Getting the Backup file out of the way does alter the process causing the Conduit Manager to reset the path from Palm to the backup folder.
