HI,
I have a problem here: I just bought the compact flash ethernet card, and i try to use it to browser the web. But the thing is, I can only go the the home page of the web site, if I try to go further, or click any link on that page, it's pops up " the page cannot be found". it does not only happened with the ethernet card, even I use the cradle as a connection, I got the the same problem too. It is ok if I press the reset botton, but after few webpage, the problem comes again......
Anyone can help me please?? :(

It could be the content contained in the pages -- like making a call to open a popup window, which isn't supported in PIE. Try going to a PPC-friendly site such as www.pocketpc.com, www.yahoo.com, www.pdastreet.com and see what happens.

I have been having the same problem. See this web page for all the tests that I have run. www.hoboshideaway.com/ipaq.html.

I talked with my brother in law and he had the same problem too.

He ended up returning it and getting a different palm solution.

I am starting to think that there are not a whole lot of people using their ipaqs to this extent.

What is set up in Settings | Connections? Could you have installed something that might have changed the settings?

No, that is the catcher...

I have tested this Ipaq with several different cards and Rom versions, with and without applications.

No matter what I tried, it stopped working after a few days.

Did you read my tests and results that I performed?

They are at:
http://www.hoboshideaway.com/ipaq.html

My final conclusion is it has something to do with packet filtering or corrupt port configurations.

Yes, I read your page but could not see any reason why ou should be having problems. The "page cannot be found" happens a lot, usually when the page you are navigating to contains popup windows. I have been using PIE for almost 3 years and have not experienced the problems you describe -- not that I'm saying they do not exist, just that I have not seen them while using a modem or LAN card (just the page not found thing).

One thing that may be different is that I use MultiIE (http://www.zipworld.com.au/~peterept/) to enable multiple explorer windows. So I cannot say honestly that I use PIE since I've used MultiIE with all my iPAQs -- it's one of the first applications I install after taking the thing from the box.

For the record, I was able to access your site (www.hoboshideaway.com/ipaq.html) using my 3970 and an Compaq HNW-100 wireless LAN adapter. Since you've reflashed the ROM several times it's hard to point to a corrupted explorer executable (unless it's corrupted on the CDROM).

If you ever resolve this problem, please post.
