Using a Psion Revo plus it is simply not possible to synchronize the agenda and contacts with my computer running Windows XP and EPOC 2.3.3, or is it?
It seems not to work anymore because XP uses Outlook express instead of Microsoft Outlook (W95/98 did!). Does anybody knows how to handle this problem?
Thanx,
JG

You cannot synchronise with Outlook Express, you must use Outlook. This was the same with Windows 95/98 which didn't have Outlook installed by default.
If you were syncing with Win 95 or 98, you must have installed Outlook separately from the operating system.

Juan,
As Mike correclty pointed out, no version Windows 95 or 98 came with Outlook and neither does XP. Office, however, does come with Outlook. Dig through your CD's and hopefully you have Office 2000. You can install Outlook from the Office 2000 CD.

From an email received, it seems that he does have Outlook installed (though I don't know which version) and gets an error message "Informationservice gwmsp1.dll is not loaded by MAPI. Check whether the service is properly installed and configured." This means nothing to me. I have done a search for that file in XP Home and XP Pro, both of which have Office XP installed, and I've also searched for gwmsp2.dll in case it it Service Pack related, as I have Office SP2 installed. I don't have the file(s) at all.

Mike,
The only time I've seen this error is when Outlook mail is set up to connect to Novell Groupwise and Outlook fails to start because it can't find the Groupwise server. It's also possible that some of his e-mail accounts were just mangled when he moved from Win 98 to WinXP. The first thing I'd do is to go to Control Panel, Mail and delete and then recreate all my e-mail accounts. That may fix the Outlook problem and allow PsiWin to work correctly.

Assuming you're using XP, go to Control Panel, Mail. Go to E-Mail Accounts and delete any of your existing e-mail accounts. Make sure you know the details of your e-mail account settings before you do this. Recreate the e-mails accounts by following the same procedure.
In Outlook. go to Tools, Options, Other and make sure that the "Make Outlook the default program for e-mail..." is ticked also.
