screen brightness

Is there a hack or program available that can increase the brightness of the m505? I just bought mine from ebay (refurbished) and I really like it except for the brightness. Evenso, it is a big improvement over my IIIx I had for years.

Just curious about the ability to adjust the brightness. If so, anyone have a link?

I've been searching for over a year for such a utility. No such animal exists, as far as I have been able to find. Almost bought an m515 6 months ago because the screen is so much brighter than my m505. Will wait instead for the release of the Tungsten at the end of this month.

OLDBLUE is correct. There is no way to Hack nor is there an application to increase the brightness of the 505 display. The brightness is in great part a function of the placement of the actual bulbs for the backlight. On the 505 the lower backlights are at the bottom of the SilkScreen area, They light up the silkscreen area and are very handy when using the 505 in the dark. On the 515 these lower lights were moved to the top of the grafitti area greatly increasing the brightness of the display. The down side is no lighted grafitti area. Enjoy your 505.
