Don't leave home without it.

The wife and I went out to dinner tonight to a restaurant in an area that I'm a bit familiar with, meaning I could easily find my way to it and home again without my iQue. But because I love this thing, I brought it with.

During dinner I routed my way home, again something I could do easily without a problem.

When we were ready to leave it was already dark and the road I would normally take home and in the direction I would normally go was backed up solid, bumper to bumper. Probably an accident in that direction.

I said to my wife with a slight chuckle as I turned the opposite direction where there was zero traffic, lets see how good this thing is. I had set the preferences to use the shortest route rather than the quickest and my new "pocket genius" with this enormous IQ found me a different way home that I could never have done on my own especially in the dark.

It was really fun following the iQue as it had me turning and turning in all different directions and finally to my home. Without any traffic by the way.

Most always when I go somewhere, I route my way even if it's to my home and even if I know how to get there. If traffic dictates or if because of some type of road emergency I have to leave the normal route, my iQue will always get me around the problem and to my destination.

My wife makes fun of me because I take it on every trip -- even places I've been to a hundred times before!

I fired up my iQue and told it to route back to the office, but avoid highways, and I found a nifty way back I would have never known about! :p

My wife was pretty mad when I first told her that I bought a new GPS, she was saying I already have a built-in GPS in my car why bother with another one. But I told her she can use it too, since her car isn't equiped with a GPS and that shut her up.. :p but I will sure tell her your story.. as I bring my iQue with me now instead of my Clie NX. :P

I use my GPSs (IQue and Street Pilot III) virtually every time I'm on the road. It's saved me hours of time, as well as helping me find lots of interesting roads (when you're on a Gold Wing, getting there is MORE than half the fun! :)) Like others here, I've also used it to get around traffic jams, especially when I'm on rural freeways that I'm not familiar with.:D

I use it all the time on my second job which is part time as a limo driver. When I drive, and my passengers give me an address, or place and ask if I know where it is, I always say "yes" as I'm punching it in my invaluble iQue. As it's talking to me in my ear piece, I'm making turns and route them right to there destination. Sometimes they must think I'm a Genius :D to know all the roads and addresses! I never leave home without it!

I use it every day on my way to the day care to pick up my son. I like it because it tells me pretty exactly what time I am going to arrive there (and then I can calc how much it'll cost me if I'm late :P).

Do cabbies use this? Seems like it would be great for them.
