Most of ARM version of software will work on 3900, however there're enough differences between the cpu so that as you experienced, some programs will not work properly. You probably need to wait for the developers to recompile their softwares for the xscale, or contact them directly to see if thier stuffs are compatible with 3900. synapse 10-04-2002, 11:36 AM So if you have a 206 ARM processor what file types will work on your PDA? ARM and .exe? AnswerDude 10-04-2002, 01:17 PM Originally posted by synapse So if you have a 206 ARM processor what file types will work on your PDA? ARM and .exe? Most application will supply an installer that will run on your desktop and it will install appropriated files on your ipaq. So you don't really need to worry about file types. But to answer your question, yes, it will run .exe files as long as it was compiled for the correct cpu. Cooldude10810 10-04-2002, 07:17 PM To clerify the ".exe" comment. All the programs you downlaod will install an exe file onto the iPAQ. But all exe files arn't the same. Some are desinged to run on desktops, some are for macs, and then some are for handhelds. The handhelds have 3 versions. MIps, SH3, and Arm. The iPAQ uses an Arm processor. Threrfor you must download the exe file built for Arm processors. PDA Street
