I'll admit right now that I haven't looked into this very thorougly yet my apologies if the answer is ridiculously simple but is there a way to refresh a remote mailbox withough having to close it and then re-open it? This is a major pain when using the email app for me so hopefully one of you guys can help me out.

TIA

What are you trying to achieve by "refreshing" the mailbox? While the mailbox is open it is displaying the "up-to-date" contents and if you move / delete a mail, it updates to show this so there is in effect nothing to refresh.

If I have the mailbox open and a new message arrives it does not display in the mailbox. Perhaps the remote mailbox is polled every so often and if this is the case then I am just being too impatient ... is there a way to adjust the polling time?

This question arose because I was doing some web browsing on my netBook a few nights ago and requested a password to be sent to me from a site. I had to close the mailbox and re-open it before the notification email was shown.

If I have the mailbox open and a new message arrives it does not display in the mailbox Ah, yes true enough the mailbox would have to be closed and re-opened to display any new headers. Don't know any way around that :(

Oh well, it's not a major problem, just a bit inconvenient.

Thanks anyway Mike.

Simon

If it's any consolation, this drives me nuts as well! Especially since I tend to forget to close and re-open, then wonder why an expected e-mail isn't there!
