it answered part of my question about getting a transformer because the mako is 6volts and a white led is 3.0-3.6. i think that the othe information in the site will be helpful in the future.
thanks

The power inside the revo can either be gained directly from the batteries or through the board itself. The latter is preferable because the computer can keep track of the battery usage still. The only way to tap into this source would be to open the computer and lead out some wires. There is no output to the serial port (although there is a way to run a LED off of the DCD current but that is not suggested as it may ruin the computer). The input is 6v because the batteries need a voltage higher than the 2.4-3v that they give out to charge. I hope this information is helpful.

HI:)
we are all wishing and wanting for our makos tohave a backlight. It is something i have always wished for.
I can say I Have been considering buying a Toshiba e310 because of its decent size, it is color, and of course a backlight.
I really wish someone would take up further development of the Revo so we can see it come up to date and be a very good and highly profitable contender.
