Hi!

I have a problem sending SMS messages via IR port with my Nokia 8210. Settings are all correct, I anyway tried to make it work with different settings, but I always receive an error message : "Could not send any SMS messages. General (unspecified) error"

Can anybody help me? Thanks.

Have you got the SMS Centre number correctly entered in Email's SMS settings? The number is normally read directly from the phone by IR but it is important that it is stored in the Psion in full international format - country/area/number but without the leading plus sign.

Some phones do not store the number this way and it must be edited in the Psion's settings.

Yes, I have checked that but it's no use. Do you think though it could be the way the number is written, As to say with spaces or slashes between country and city codes?

Thnks for your preceding prompt reply!

Best wishes

The SMS Centre number should be a single continuous string with no spaces or slashes etc.

That solves it for me!

I have had the same problem (not being able to send SMS, getting 'unspcified error'). It turned out that the phone number that I was trying to send to included spaces, which apparently made my 6210 choke. Now I enter the destination number as a single continous string, and it seems to work fine!

Good luck
