Converting Pocket Excel Files

When copying files from my Jornada to my desktop PC with Microsoft ActiveSync, it doesn't seem to convert all the Pocket Excel files into Excel files - .pxl and .pxt files are copied to my desktop.

I have checked the conversion setting in the TOOLS > OPTIONS menu in ActiveSync and they are all set to convert .pxl and .pxt to .xls and .xlt respectively.

I have tried copying the .pxl and .pxt files to another Jornada and opening them up, but they throw up an invalid format error. I can't view the files on any Jornada and because Excel 95/97/2000/XP doesn't recognice Pocket Excel files, i cannot read any of the data from these files! Around 200 Pocket Excel files seem to be affected.

Anyone got any ideas ???

This might be a superfluous point, but when you look under options, rules, conversion settings, are you looking at both destop to device AND device to desktop? You probably have, but I have no other ideas.

as an aside, I use my Jornada's storage card to transfer files from work to home & back & I set the conversion settings to no conversion. Huge file transfers can be a bit slow, but I can live with it.
