Does anyone know of a way to read HTML emails straight away (without having to go through the process of copying the text into a file, giving it an html extension and then viewing it through Opera). What's this IMAP4? Would upgrading to a 7book help?

Any help would be much appreciated,
Neil.

I havenīt found a way out of that problem yet. Would like to have one though.

IMAP4 is another protocol (kinda like POP3) to connect to an emailserver and download yīr email.

I use it on my 7 to read my corporate email.
Most ISPīs use POP though.

IMAP4 was announced for the 7 as I bought it. But it was never released by Psion. It was released for a Psion clone though, and some people unpacked and hacked the IMAP installation for that machine and made the files available.

So itīs not supported by Psion...but it works.

I haven't found a way of directly reading HTMLemails, either, but I'm not all that worried about it to be honest. First, pretty nearly all the HTMLemails I used to receive were spam (to the extent that I've now shut down the email account which was the target), and I could tell from the title or from a quick look at the raw HTML what they were about. Second, putting the HTML files in a "scratch"folder and disconnecting my dial-up connection before Iopen them with the browser means that there's much less likelihood of clicking on an unwanted link ;-). Maybe you're better off without the likes of Outlook Express!
