Hello all...
I am so irritated!
Here is my problem. I have never Hotsync'd my Palm before. It was a friend's, he gave it to me, and it worked on his computer.
I have hooked up the Sync stand to the computer to do my first Local sync.. I have installed all the right components.
I have Palmdesk running, and Hotsync running. When I push the button on the stand to Hotsync, it runs for about 30 secs, and the say there is a problem connecting to my computer and I need to make sure my settings are correct before trying again.

I've got it plugged up, far as I know the Ports are correct, everything seems like it should work. My friend said that he plugged it up exactly like I have it, did everything I have done and it worked on HIS.

But, won't on mine!

HELP!

I assume you have done a hard reset on the Palm. (Hold the Power button down, press the reset pin in the "reset" hole on the back, hold the power button till the Palm logo appears on the screen and then push the up button to "Erase all data." And it will erase all data.)
If you have not done a reset and do not want to lose data try a soft reset that will not destroy data. Simply use the reset pin in the end of the stylus to push in the reset on the back. The try the sync again.
Com ports can be an issue. Palm likes to grab Com 1 if your modem or other device has com 1 they may be in conflict.
