dark screen on palmV

Anybody have advice on what to do about a palmV with a screen that is too dark to read? It was working fine for years. Now when it turns on it goes quickly through the "normal" screen contrast to a state that is barely visible where the background is dark and the text is really hard to see.

Have you tried removing and replacing the Contrast Button on the top of the Vx? They often get stuck. Gently pry it out and replace it.

Thanks DrMud, you solved the problem. I did not remember that there was a way to adjust contrast. Problem solved!
