I spoke with Garmin tech support on October 6th regarding several issues I am having with my iQue and was told firmware update would be released later that day or possibly the next. Tech support said this would solve many of problems. Does anyone know when the update will actually be released? (sorry if this a duplicate - don't think first attempt to post this question went through):)

I don't think the frontline tech support people are told much...... :rolleyes:

I was told that it would be soon. The guy I talked to said that he does not like to give out dates becuase he and other reps do not know the date. He indicated that he could get an email while we were on the phone saying that it was ready. It then again could be days down the road though. :shrug:

I spoke to a Garmin tech yesterday morning and he said it should be out by the end of this month.

I've been told that the firmware update is ready except that they are waiting for certification from Palm before releasing it.

No word yet AFAIK. My guess is Garmin won't publicly pre-announce the availability of the firmware update, rather, it'll just magically appear on their web site when it's ready.

I hope that before they post it to their web site, they beef-up their servers to handle all the web traffic this update will cause! :p

Just got my iQue back today from an RMA and the repair data sheet included a note that stated Garmin was going to release new software "in the next 2 to 3 weeks" that will correct "many locking up and resetting issues".
