Hi again,
I have Windows CE 2.11 on my E-100 device. Is there any software that would run .avi (or other movie files) files (not divx) for it?

Casio has its own Video converter & video player software which was supplied as bonus pack with some devices.

Works well too.

You could also try Windows Media Player 7.1 for PPC.

I don't have the original CD that was given with the Cassiopeia when I bought it.
I thought that I can only install "Windows Media Player for CASIO Palm Size PC" on my E-100 .. and not "Windows Media Player 7.1 for Pocket PC".

Windows media player comes in 2 parts.

One part runs on your regular Windows OS.

The PPC part will install to the pda as well add on to the desktop where it will convert your media files to pda compatible compressed format.

Both are available on the Microsoft site.

If you have hard time finding it let me know & I could send it to you. It is laaaaarge though.

Total about 800 k for the PPC part alone. The main file is over 9 mb.

Well .. I'm sorry, but I just don't understand what you mean ... :(
Also .. is there a .mid playing s/w for Windows CE 2.11 ?

The .mid files you speak of are Midi format files.

This is a highly efficient format for digital recording of instrumental music ONLY where the instruments & sounds are predefined & accepted by manufacturers of electronic musical instruments like keyboards etc. General Midi is the industry standard.

These have nothing to do & cannot handle human voice or video.

Having said that, two things:

1. Can you help me find that two part media player files that I need to install on my Windows CE 2.11 (on my E-100)?

2. Can you also help me find the s/w that would play these Midi files on that same machine, if such player exists at all.

Thanks for your help in advance!

Playing of midi files usually requirtes hardware support with built in instrument & waveform tables. Implementing these in software would require high CPU utilisation.

Please contact me directly at my email address.

I need your ISP assigned address to send the files. Hotmail/Yahoo have limitations on ayyachmennts & very often the mail bounces.

Playing midi on CE devices isn't as much of a problem as is being decribed.

This works great:

The application is in English.

The menu and all graphics are in English. The only thing in Japanese is the sub menu under the EDIT function (used to edit the playlist). It is very easy to understand.

Yeah, I installed it and it works :)

I'll now wait to get the one from pmshah and I'll check which one works best for me ...

Thanks.
