HotSync hanging on Datebook

After a really spontanious hard reset i was glad to have installed BackupMan.
So i did a full restore from my extenal card to the handheld.
The started HotSync staid hanging on the Datebook.
So i did end the HotSync on both the PC as handheld.
By excluding the Datebook in the HotSync (Do Nothing) the following HotSync was successfull !!.

How can i overcome the HotSync problem with Datebook ???

Or do i have to wait for the new firmware ???

I had already experienced such problems with the iQUE as well as with much older palm devices.
Most often, it was due to the fact that I installed an other datebook conduit (i.e. sync with Outlook or Lotus Notes) and then came back to the normal Palm Desktop synchronization.
With other conduits, some characaters (such as accentuated char in French) were badly converted, and then caused an error during Hotsync with the Palm desktop application. The only way I found to correct this problem was either to find which appointment(s) was corrupted and to delete it, or to purge all the content of the datebook...

That did the job !!!

In the Palm Desktop:
Tools - Options - Tools - Check and repair and corrupted records.

Result was a few records with corrupted dates !!!

After this check everything went well, thanks, this did cost me hours and hours, but i learned again out of this.
