I dont know if anyone else has this problem, but it is happening more and more often to me. I find that when i take my Q out of my pocket, the voice recorders says it cant record anymore because of memory limitations. I tap ok, and i have 3 MB voice memos. Something is hitting the voice button in my pocket. Does anyone know of a way to remap the voice button or disable it?

Thanks,
nate

Yup...same exact thing happened to me last night. Battery almost dead, huge voice file, out of memory warning. I don't even use the voice recorder - I would be happy if there was a way to just ditch it all together!

Yup! Me too. Done it about 5 times now. Pain in the a$$.

I guess we all had this; by mistake somehow the button was pressed :(

I sometimes accidentally activate mine taking it out of the slip case. Gotta check to see if the Covertecs are ready yet.

Hopefully the [reported] firmware update will address this.

No, just that the Covertec isn't a slip case, you don't need to slide it out to use the iQue. But yeah, you should find something else to spend another $40 on... if you don't do it weekly, you don't really appreciate your iQue like the rest of us. ;)

Question: Does the voice recorder activate by a single push of this button, and then remain in 'record' mode until a second press? If so, I can see how this would be a big problem.

My HandEra has a voice recorder button, but you must keep it depressed to continue recording. I guess it's like a dead man switch...although I don't think I want to 'fully' test it in that manner...:(

If you want to completely disable the vioce recording, would it be possible to use McFile, Filez or something similar to give another application the same app ID as the voice record program? Then possibly after a soft reset, either the device doesn't process the Voice program and so doesn't know to turn on or it calls up the other app instead.

Yeah, I'd sorta like that button mapped to a clock. Sort of like on the M1xx series where holding the UP button down (when the thing was off) popped up the clock and releasing it turned the thing off again.

Actually, has anyone tried mapping the ClockPop hack to the record button? Does that hack even work under OS5 and is the record button mappable? It might be a reason for me to get an OS5 hack manager when my iQue gets back from warranty...

Havent tried any hacks, but that clock idea is a good one...
