Newbie T2 charging question

My old Palm V sat in the cradle and was constantly recharged through the serial connector.

My new T2 sits on its cradle connected to a USB port. There is no green led and the battery goes flat eventually. I have to charge it separately with the travel adaptor.

What am I doing wrong, please?

This is most likely a dumb question but do you have the external power suppply (supplied with your Palm) connected to your USB cradle?

The Palm USB crade does not draw any power from your USB port to charge the PDA but relies on an external power supply.

Not a dumb question at all: rather a dumb operator here. I was jet-lagged when I got back from Boston to my UK home and just threw a tangle of wires and plugs into a drawer after starting the laundry!

I bought the T2 in the States but left all the packing behind, so I'll look again tonight.
