I inherited a Philips Velo 1 from my father, and have run into a problem hooking it up to my computer. While installing H/PC Explorer 1.1 on my PC running 2000 pro, I inadvertently clicked on the button telling it to remove and reinstall RAS (whoops). The installation failed, it's messed up a few services running on the computer, and now I can't configure an incoming connection. Can anyone tell me how to repair/reset/reinstall the routing and remote access service? I've been tearing my hair out over this one, and can't seem to figure it out.

On a happier note, I did manage to install the software on my work computer, running XP pro, and aside from not being able to synchronize with Outlook, it's working beautifully.

Thanks for any advice.

When I messed up the RAS, I had to reinstall Windoze. Hope you find a better solution

Well, it got to the point where, like yourself, I had to do a full reinstall of Windows 2000. Actually, I just had to do the same thing again (twice in 1 week!) after screwing up system files, while trying to install PCAnywhere for the Velo.... Ya gotta love trying to mix the old with the new. I really do like this Velo, though.

Wow. I'm sorry you had to go through that mess TWICE! Doesn't that violate the Geneva Convention? <g>

I absolutely love my Velo 1. I particularly like keeping my calendar and contacts in Schedule, so unless my Velo and my desktop crash at the SAME time, I won't lose years' worth of addresses and project information.
