Anybody tried either of these chargers? How much of a charge do 4AA batteries give?

I use the Omicron charger with my Diamond Mako. A set of alkaline batteries are good to charge the Mako from about 40% to 100% about 4 times. I you recharge every day when the Mako is at about 80%, it's good for at least a week.
One caution is not to let the Revo/Mako run all the way down. One set of batteries is not enough to recharge a fully discharged machine and changing the batteries while the machine isn't fully charged seems to screw up the charging circuit so you get the fast run down phenomenon until you can get properly charged from mains power. Other than this caveat, the Omicron seems to work very well and the price is quite reasonable, at least here in the US.

I use the Omicron charge all the time with my trusty Mako. Used it this summer to keep charged up on a 2 week trip to the UK. My experience is that you can go from about 30% to 100% three times for sure, four if you're lucky. While I was on the plane, I just kept it plugged in and I was able to work for a couple of hours non-stop and stay at 100%. Great way to travel without having to pack a current converter. And like Jim said, a great value.

I have the "batteriepack" version and it's about the same, pretty good for 2 charges at least, after that it works ok but you need to keep the thing plugged in all the time. I tend to replace the batteries at around that point rather than experimenting to see how long the old ones last.
Still beats having to take the charger everywhere! And it's fine for working on the train etc.
