I was considering the opportunity of buying a GPRS mobile phone to use in connection with a nB or a 5mx.
I have to admit to be rather confused about the offer on the market.
which points should be valued when looking for such a handset?
which are in your opinion the best suitable products to deal with psion pdas?

If you have a look on the General Information page of my website, there are two files provided by Craig Chambers of Psion Teklogix which give settings and test results for various phones. This might give you some help in looking for a GPRS compatible phone.

Click on the [GPRS settings] and [GSM/GPRS Test] buttons.

I have an Ericsson R520m which works reliably on GPRS with netBook, MC218 and RevoPlus.

The only minor niggle is that the phone does not display any indication of being connected once it has completed the process, so I'm sometimes left wondering whether it might have dropped. Usually it hasn't though and I'm generally very satisfied with it.

Have no personal experience of any other GPRS phones, however, sorry.

what about fax sending/receiving?
is your phone capable of doing so?

as far as i know, ericsson t39 has a stable connection, but also consider Siemens ME/S 45.
for better performance i recomend Fisio 820 ( but i haven't try it yet), it has class 10 gprs
also have built in bluetooth ( if your nb have bluetooth capability)

may it help.
