Well it appears that the 4100 series iPAQs do have a serial port even though it is based on the 1900 series form factor. I have been unable to find a picture of the connector on the bottom to compare it to my 1940. According to the HP site the foldable keyboard IS compatible with the 4100 series.

I just don't understand why they couldn't have included a serial port with the 1900 series. I know the 4100 series is more expensive and you should get more bells and whistles but...
I have no need for the faster processor, I watch full length movies on my 1940 and that is all the power I can ever imagine needing. I do not need WiFi (I don't even use the Bluetooth on my 1940, unless they come up with a bluetooth keyboard). So why should I spend $450 just for a serial port ( I know, I should have bought the 2210, but I love the shape and feel of the 1940). Guess you can't have it all.
