Hello,

I bought recently a Sagem My X-5 mobile phone with an Ir port.
I tried to send a fax with may 5mx using Ir connection without any success.

Does anybody have the configuration parameters to enter in the modem profile on my Psion 5mx for this phone ?

Thanks,

JC

Hi,
I don't know anything about 5mx but if it can help, here is how I made a Sagem Myx-3d work with a netBook (I didn't try fax, just regular internet connection) :

- I switched the IR on the gsm
- then open the IR on the Psion
- I launched Opera and selected an ISP connection (Libertysurf in my case) and choose Infrared GSM modem
- Everything connected fine...

I hope that it's as simple as this with a 5mx.

BTW, if you want to synchronize your psion with your phone, you can use PhonemanPro (http://www.zenobyte.com/phonemanpro/EPOC/ (1)

that's all I can say about Psion and Myx phone, hope it will help.

An error message saying "No Carrier" would indicate that your phone has not been enabled for Fax calls by your network provider. Fax calls are not the same as Data calls and must be enabled separately.

The window I get is:
fax sending summary
fax sent: 0
fax not sent: 1
No modem answer.
Check that the modem is connected and turned on.
Control the modem parameters

Control the modem parameters Did you select a modem that has been setup for use with a mobile phone using Infrared?

I would suggest the first thing to do is see if the 5mx can communicate with the phone using the Comms application. Have a look at the instructions for doing this in my Modem Info (http://www.mgmcc.myby.co.uk/Modemprobs.htm) file.
