From reading other threads about the recently released Firmware update / patch

Can somebody please advise,
My iQue is showing the file "Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92" in the "info" page, is this the correct file verson? after installation of the 2nd patch (firmware update) or is this a relic from the first patch.
The other main file installed with the 1st patch "BigDALPatch01" has correctly gone, but i am not sure if this other file (Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92) is from the old or new patch. The unit seems to be working perfect, it's just from reading other threads, i am now wondering if my update went as it should, or if i have inadvertently re-installed some incorrect files when i hot-synced

My iQue is also showing the file "Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92" in the "info" page. I also had the 1st patch "BigDALPatch01" installed (and it is also gone). I am NOT using and SD card as in your situation. I have no idea if this file is from the old or new patch. I would assume the "Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92" is fine. I did have a successful installation of the 2nd patch (firmware update).

The only way you will know for sure if the "Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92" file is correct is to have someone report on this prior to the installation of the Release 2 firmware update.

Read These Garmin's Instructions, (http://www.garmin.com/support/download_details.jsp?id=397#Instruct)

11. Verify that the software update was successful.
A. Go to the Launcher (tap on the house icon in the lower-left corner).
B. Tap the menu icon (it is the icon just to the right of the house icon in the lower-left corner).
C. A drop-down menu will appear.
D. Tap the Info... menu item.
E. Tap the version button at the bottom of the screen. The update was successful if the second line of the screen displays Palm OS software v.5.2.1r2.

That's what mine says after the update, however, Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92 is also in that directory.

This is getting more interesting, on thinking about this file "Garmin iQue 3600..... v2.92" i have a second iQue unit (which i bought to get a hold of the USA software), and i have ONLY installed the 2nd patch / firmware update, and the above mentioned file does not appear on the info page on that unit.
I am starting to think that this file is resident in the archives of the PC and is re-installed with a hot-sync. PLEASE can somebody enlighten :confused:

I have been in touch with Garmin Europe, and on talking to the staff there, they said that there iQues also had this file shown after Patch 2 installation and would investigate further (especially since advising that my USA iQue which has only been updated with patch2 does not have the afore said file). They have just been in touch and confirmed that the file is:-
The file "garminique3600 v 2.92" that you refer to is a remnant from the Patch 1 installation process. It is unnecessary in Release 2 and therefore can be deleted.
This file is "backed up" in the Palm Desktop user's backup directory. Once it is deleted from either the iQue 3600 or the backup directory, it should not reappear in subsequent Hot Sync operations.
