Well there's a couple of things you can do, you can use ActiveSync/Explorer option to cpy them over to a storare card. But the way I do it is to use WindowsMedia player to copy them over in using the Copy to CD or Device pain. These are the two most avalible otion, there also could be some other programs or sync programs that do this too.

I have a 32mb SanDisk MultiMediaCard, but I'm talking basics for the PC challenged ( or idiot if you prefer). I was looking for step by step instructions and part by part equipment. Thanks for the reply.

Would you want to copy them like you would a normal file of have a play list up loaded?

Create a playlist of the songs you want to have on your iPAQ. Next click the button on the side that says "Copy to CD or Device". Choose the playlist from the right-hand side dropdown box, you will see how much space and how long the music will be at the bottom of the pane. Now, on the left-hand side dropdown box choose the storage card you want to put it on. (I have purchased a CF Plus Sleave, along with a 256MB CF Card that I put music on, I also have a 64MB SD Card for apps and other storage.) If you don't see any option for your iPAQ press your F5 key to refresh the dropdown, this from the MediaPlayer help. Click the folder you want to store the music in on the storage card. At the bottom of the pane you will see how much space you have free. Select all the songs on the right-hand side, if you do not have enough space for all the songs it will let you know. and you can delete or uncheck songs until you have the enough space. Finally clcik the copy button in the upper left corner, and enjoy your tunes when done.

A word of advice -- invest in either a second power adapter (to be carried around or left at work) or one of the new expansion card plus sleeves (the pc card sleeve will allow you to use both CF [using an adapter] and PCMCIA cards) if you intend to seriously use Windows Media Player or any other mp3 player on the iPAQ.

If I do not run WMP (or withMP3), my naked 3970 will still have 60-70% power at the end of the day (I use the device constantly for information). If I run WMP or withMP3, the battery power is below 40% (low enough to give me a low battery warning using the default 3900 power settings) after just a couple of hours.
