My Tungsten E is already full of crap. Can I uninstall programmes? I'm never going to use the expenses.
Can I do the equivalent of a drive format and wipe the lot out?

Yes I am experiencing a similiar situation. I just bought my wife a Tungsten E and on the first sync it installed all of the extra software without asking me whether I wanted it or not. It was an upgrade install from a Zire, maybe if I did a clean install it would have given me a choice.
You can uninstall applications. If you pull down the menu, one of the choices will be delete, select this choice and it will list all the files installed and you just select the one to uninstall. The problem with the Palm OS and uninstalling apps is it all has to be done manually. If a program consists of more than one component (usually a .prc file) there is no uninstaller to remove all associated files. You have to determine the name of each file and delete them individually, easier said than done. I deleted a lot of files from my wife's Tungsten and still don't think I got everything associated with the programs she did not want. I myself own an iPAQ (pocket pc) and there is a built in uninstaller.
Anyone know of a better way to determine exactly which files belong to a certain program so when you want to delete that application you get ALL of the files?
Thanks

Some add-on program launchers (Launcher III, LauncherX, and I'm sure others) will delete databases and prefs associated with an app you want to delete. If you don't want to delete the databases/prefs, you have that option too.

Thanks, gents. I've got that far. The delete menu seems not to have got all the programmes, either. No "Quick Tour", which I definitely don't need any more.

The quick tour is probably in ROM and you won't be able to delete it.
