Hi alll,

Are there any Linux users on the Psion out there who can enlighten a total Linux novice? It seems very interesting that one can use Linux on the Psion, but what advantage does one have using Linux? I checked the PsiLinux website, but a lot of it is not clear to me. I also checked the GNU website for software and I must say there is a lot of software that would interest me. Many programs must have been developed for PC type systems with bigger screens. So what does REALLY run on a Psion with PsiLinux or is it more a "Geek Factor" system for people that have fun playing around with something different?

This is a very big area. My advice to you is to buy the latest copy of the Psion Computer Journal, it has an article by myself in it detailing this sort of thing. Have fun,

Sorry to go OT slightly - but do you mean the Psion Computer Jounal is 'out' Ed? I don't think I've seen my copy yet (unless my wife has hidden it under a pile of post somewhere...!).

Oops! Yes, this thread did wander off track somewhat. However it does sound as though some answers to Herbert's original question are to be found in Ed's Journal article when it becomes available.

I know absolutely nothing about Linux and will be interested to read it too. :cool:
