'too many files' error

While syncing, I got :

Protocol Error: Too many files. (4403)

please help.

Try a soft reset. With the unit off simply push the reset pin contained in the end of your Palm Stylus into the reset hole on the back of your Palm. Push and let go and wait for the screen to go through its dance. Then try to sync again.
If this fails it may require a hard reset. You will lose your data on the Palm if you find it necessary to hard reset. If you have had a successful hotsync recently you will have all your data restored from the desktop. The hard reset is as follows: Hold down the Power on button. At the same time poke the reset pin in the reset hole. Remove the reset pin continue for 10 to 15 seconds to hold the Power on down till you see the Logo. Let the power button go. You should see a screen offering to remove all of your data if you push the scroll up button. Say Yes and you have done the Hard Reset.
