I have deliberately deleted a word file from the flash card in my netbook. However, what I printed off I have lost and I wondered does anybody have a utility or know where I can find one which will enable me to recover/undelete the file in question?

Any help appreciated.

Recycle Bin. But it costs money...

You might be able to 'undelete' the file using a suitable utility in a PC, in conjunction with a USB Compact Flash Reader or CF/PCMCIA adapter in a laptop.

I have tried a number of products such as badcopy and PC Inspector. All to no avail.

What is recyle bin?

Steve

There are indeed two or three "Recycle Bin" utiilities available for EPOC, but as far as I know they need to be installed before the file deletion takes place in order to be able to recover.

Consequently, it looks to me as though Mike's suggestion has the better potential to solve your particular problem.

Thanks for advice. I have tried a number of programmes but so far no luck. If anyone knows of a specific product then please advise otherwise may as well close the thread as most options tried!!

Thanks anyway.

Great Site by the way-only find these places when you want something!!

Steve, I PM'd you about sending this to you, then I found the original link for it.

http://hccweb1.bai.ne.jp/~hcj58401/REST2514.EXE

Restoration is a FREE undelete program for Windows. Does all the filesystems, and can undelete things once the recycle bin is emptied or even that were never in the recycle bin (deleted from DOS prompt etc).

If you have a CF card reader for your PC, download this and run it. You can run it from a floppy, it doesn't need installing before you need it.

Brilliant, saved my life about a month ago when I deleted 3Gb of data from a colleagues PC... Ho hum...

I would undelete to your PC's C: drive, then copy back to your Psion.

Good luck

Hi Steve,

If you would like to stick to EPOC applications, you could try the Disk Editor of the Essential Disk Utilities (http://www.ateliersoftware.com/epoc/edu.html) by Atelier?

Unless you have overwritten the disk area where your file was originally saved with more recent data, you should be able to retrieve it.

Regards,

Mick
