active sync not working

Active sync starts to connect then stops and thats it. When I take the axim off of the cradle and put it back on it wants a new partner. I have tried to delete all but one partner, but they keep coming back. If I try and get out without setting up a partner I get set up as guest, when that tries to connect it just sits there with the icon green.

If you have a firewall running, that may be the cause. It happened to me. Try disabling ther fw, then run sync. After it syncs, turn fw back on. FW should prompt you to set up rules for active sync, I choose always permit and am able to sync.

You might try deleteing active sync and then reinstalling it or update to version 3.7.1 at the below link.

I have had problems with my Axim and ActiveSync also. Dell's tech. support suggested resetting the Axim. So far this has worked every time. It's an inconvience, but I haven't lost any data yet. It's random, everything works fine for several months, and then I have to reset 2-3 times in one week. Hope this helps.

I do not have any problems with syncing at all, I do not have to reset at all except for when I am running new programs that don't agree with the Axim.
I am running Activesync 3.7.1 and Rom AO2. I sync daily with Outlook and AvantGo without a problem.
Robert what active sync and rom are you using?

Dell told me to always boot you desktop before plugging in your sync cable or cradle.
