Greetings, I'm looking for any info on wi-fi connectivity for the Tungsten series units for our hospital network environment. I've been following the SanDisk web site to see when their SD card product is going to materialze but so far, no go.
Any alternatives?
Thanks, Joe H.

You can use a wireless lan card and the Guyver. The Guyver adds a PC Card slot to any Palm device with the Universal Connector. It also has its own integrated battery. It is possible to use CF Card adaptors to make CF cards fit into the PC Card slot.

I just read that OS 5 drivers for SanDisk would be available next month.

No telling if this is smoke or brick.

Dont know much about it but the have an ad on the inside cover of "Handheld Computing" magazine. I have no association with either the magazine (good read though) or the following:

I bought a Tungsten C to replace my faulty T3. I love it. It is more expensive but if you consider the cost of the T3 plus adding Wi-Fi, the cost difference would not be a factor. With my TC, I have been able to connect to the internet in Starbucks (but it is very pricey), connect to Wi-Fi at work, and by adding a Linksys Ethernet-B adapter to my Computer I can Hotsync free of the cradle. I HotSynced downstairs, in my driveway and from the park across the street. It would not sync sitting my my car in the garage but thats not a problem.
Every Wi-Fi connection I have made was simple, and so far it has worked perfectly.

After some review, I'll be patiently waiting on the SanDisk Wi-Fi SD card. I like the availability of taking the card out in "secure environments".....

Palm OS Wi-Fi SD Card Delay Continues
Posted By: Ryan on Monday, November 10, 2003 11:49:16 AM
SanDisk has again confirmed the delay of drivers for the SD Wi-Fi card for Palm OS 5. The company originally promised to release the 802.11b SDIO wireless card in the Spring.
The card was first announced in January and said it would become available in March. In late May, SanDisk pushed the release back until the fall. In August the company released the card, but only with drivers for Windows Mobile devices.
Palm OS 5 only
The card was also originally announced that it would be compatible with Palm OS 4 devices and higher. However, SanDisk discontinued plans to develop and OS 4 driver and announced they would only release drivers for Palm OS 5.
Now according to a company spokesman, the Palm OS drivers for the SD Wi-Fi card will not be available until December. The Wi-Fi (802.11b) SD Connect cards will have a suggested retail price of $99.95.
