The good thing is it's less than US$1500 as they claimed earlier. What I'm concerned about is the dead pixel issue as now the NP comes with a TFT screen. Just emailed the comster service of Expansys US&Canada and got a reply saying:"Yes we have a 15 day warranty period."

It appears Expansys just increased the price. Now it's $1524. Yesterday it was $1282. That's almost a 20% increase since yesterday. They must have had some orders and are doing a little yield management. Now I suppose I'll wait a few weeks for them.

Hummm, at the previous price I might have been tempted, but now it's well over a £1000 it's much less attractive. I wonder if they made a mistake with the original price?

Ciao all!

it is actually no mistake, just a very recent change in the price positioning.

time will tell if this is a wise strategy or not. I am afraid it is not, but please this is my very personal point of view and I am confident that who decided so might have his very good reasons.

BTW, those really willing to buy one could perform a very simply google research and find other on-line vendors who might have kept the former sales offer until the very first - just arrived - stocks last. they will be likely update the price list as soon as they have to order a new batch.

all the others who are actually not in a hurry may refrain from buying it and wait for the launch of the Netbook Pro Symbian*;)

So if this Netbook Pro only comes with the basic Windows CE.net OS. I assume that if we wanted one of these to replace the current netBook, we would also have to add a cost of purchasing the equivalent software such as, Windows Office CE app (Word, Exel, Powerpoint) and also I assume we would have to wait for all the current ancillary applications that most of us use to be converted for this new hardware format (IRC, PDF, Maps, etc).

Perhaps I will stick with my 7book for a little while yet.

Yes, that's pretty much the situation - included software is fairly limited, and moreover there seems to be some doubt about compatibility with the form factor of Netbook Pro of existing WinCE.net apps. As I have said elsewhere on the forum, this new machine as it stands is probably not suitable for anybody expecting a direct replacement for netBook Classic.

Perhaps I will stick with my 7book for a little while yet.Sounds wise to me, Si! ;)
