Check the version of your wifi card. You can find this on the back of the card. It will say:
Instant Wireless
Network PC Card
Model No.:WPC11 ver.X
If you bought the card recently (e.g. ver.3), forget it. It will not work. You need to have an earlier version. The easiest card I have is the Avaya Silver. Plug in and works! This card also has as far as I know the lowest power consumption therefore longer battery life! I bought this thing brand new on Ebay for about US $40.

Check this site. Very good info.

Hi startx25,
To get support for wireless network cards, you will need to have a recent OS release installed on your netBook. See this list (http://www.isbg00598.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/faqNetbook.htm#OSversions) at my FAQ.
The drivers support the cards listed in my FAQ; stolkjo provided the URL in his last post. I do not think the Xircom card will work at all, but the Linksys might do, if it is old enough.

I found my old Xircom CEM33 Global Access combo card in my box "things with wires". I'll play around with it see what happens.
