I am trying to connect to my DSL here at home. I am using SBC as my DSL internet. My Laptop uses a piece of software called Ethernet 300 that was in my DSL set up, but I am unable to load that software onto my Ipaq 3955. I am unable to log into my internet service because I do not have a piece of software that is PPPoE compatible. Is there any software out there that is compatible and will allow me to connect to my server. I am using the HomePortal 100 2wire DSL router. Any help would be appreciated. I am having to keep 2 internet services just to use both my laptop and Ipaq. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like your computer is managing the PPOE connection. I cannot determine what type of networking gear you are using with the iPAQ. In any event, if the DSL modem does not manage the PPOE connection (i.e., provide a configuration page where you put your ISP provided username, password, etc), you will probably need some type of hub (wireless or Ethernet) and a second NIC in your desktop if you are using Windows XP or Windows 2000 on the PC connected to the 2Wire Home Portal for Internet Connection Sharing you should configure your iPAQ with the [internal] IP address of the ICS machine.

You might also replace the ISP provided DSL modem with a compatible DSL/Cable modem router (wired or wireless) and use the LAN IP address as the default gateway for all your devices.
