Digitizer problems

Quite suddenly the digitizer on my N770 seems to have gone out of alignment; the calibration utility in Prefs won't let me set it correctly (it just keeps on asking me to tap in the centre of each target over and over continuously) - I've tried various 'digitizer fix' programs, but all these seem to do is open the standard digitizer calibration screen, which I can do from 'Prefs' anyway.

The misalignment is not constant all over the screen, or even proportional to the position on the screen (it's hard to explain).

I'd start with a soft reset. If that doesn't work a hard reset might be in order. Your data base backup may still be corrupt after a hard reset, but it will let you know if it is a hardware or software problem.

I had the same problem with one of my clies... Can't be help unless you take it to Sony and have it fix.... or..... I downloaded a software from PalmGear to fix the misalignment. You are free to check it out at PalmGear.com. If you can't find a good one... let me know

I don't recall the title that I downloaded but I do have the file.... Attached is the file..... After you use it, you can delete it from your pda (I think, if I remember correctly). It's only 3kb... so shouldn't take so much of your pda space. I do have to inform you guys that if in anytime, your system asked you to reset, the attachment with launch by itself but you won't be able to recalibrate the digitizer because the screen would be lower. You'd have to do a soft reset and reload the program again. I tried it and it went well with one of my clie.... since I don't crash.... Let me know what you think....

Hi to anyone with a digitizer problem

I own a CLIE N700C and have had similar problems to those mentioned here. My CLIE was becoming unusable til I found Calibrator to fix it. If you are having digitizer problems this is the app for you.

Go to Palmgear and look for Calibrator 1.0. (note its the original source for the corr.prc file mentioned elsewhere on this thread).

You will need the full version to calibrate the graffiti area, but the free version will fix the main screen area.

NOTE:-

I have no affiliation with this software other than a very satisfied buyer... it saved my CLIE from becoming useless.
