Hello folks
this is my first time posting here

I converted the mp3s on my computer into WMA and transferred them to the "my Documents" folder in my IPAQ.

My IPAQ is a 3630 and is running Pocket PC 2000 only
but I could play those mp3s before, despite they contain some Chinese Characters. I don't think this is necessarily a problem and I hope you folks can help me solve the problem.

My heartfelt thanks to all^^

Try NOT converting them, and just copy the mp3 to the same directory and see if you can play it, wmp should be able to play mp3 files.

but in my previous Casio EM-500
the Windows MEdia player can only play WMA files
moreover mp3s tend to be larger in size

when i try to play the WMA files on my current IPAQ
the name of the song blinks for a second but still the music cannot be played
and I don't know why this situation happens again and again
even after I had hard-reset my device

As I said before, Windows Media Player for Pocket PC supports Windows Media audio and video, AND MP3 audio. I play mp3 files with bit rate of 128 kbps with no problem. If you still prefer wma, heres's the details instruction.

I had the same problem. The only solution i found that worked was to load divX as the media player. Once I did that, my previously unplayable MP3 files would play fine. Supposidly media player is super sensative to frame problems

PocketDivX is free here:

Thank you folks
I'll try it out later
but I just wonder why I can play those WMA files on my Casio Pocket PC, BUT NOT on the IPAQ 3630
