I shipped my iQue back to Garmin last Friday for the screeching problem. I was wondering how Garmin typically return-ships. I know there are plenty of people here with experience with this. Do they return-ship using UPS, Airborne, FedEx?
I know, I could have asked Garmin at the time I got my RMA number, but I didn't. D'OH!!

I think Airborne is thier default carrier unless you specify otherwise

Thanks, Ann! I gave Garmin my work address exactly for that reason, so I'd be around to sign for it when it comes back.
Man. 5 days without my iQue, and I'm already going nuts without it! I need a life! :p
I had both of my RMAs returned via Fedex Next Day.... in both cases, they said that they were upgrading them to Next Day Air due to delays in shipping them back to me.

Stymyx, you definitely need to get out more.:D
Maybe put a picture of your 'loved' one in your wallet, and a framed photo by your bedside table!

I was considering getting a Tungsten
for those times when I want WiFi. I'm
on the phone to Garmin and am waiting
to talk to someone about doing an RMA
for the screech problem which came back
last night [yes, I have the latest update
installed]. So I'll be in the large club of
people waiting without a unit.
There are times when I wish that they'd
send out a new one and you send back
the old one when you got the new one.
This is how Dell handled RMAs for parts
on my PCs and Laptops.
Just got off the phone with Garmin.
They'll RMA it, no questions asked. I just
said I have the screech problem. They
didn't even ask me if I had installed the
update.
Turnaround time is 3-5 days as they're
doing it "Warranty Priority" and returning
units via Fedex Overnight.
What method do you guys usually use
to ship it to them?
One other thing is I asked the tech guy
about wireless support. He said that he
gets asked that question a lot but didn't
have any information on future product
plans.
I use fedex next day with there fedex account#. I sent mine in 10/31 and it shipped back to me today and getting it tomorrow 11/6. It was returned for the screeching. This is my second rma, and both times they sent me a whole new box back. I will now have 3 of everything....

How did you pack it to send it to them? I thought you just sent it to them in the
original packaging.

Hey, Zilt, when I got my RMA, the guy at Garmin told me I'd get my iQue back within 7 to 14 days. Did they tell you the same thing? I sent mine in the same day you did, overnight, so they got it on Monday. Hopefully I'll get mine back as fast as you're getting yours! :D

When I spoke to them on friday I had mentioned that I heard that are doing quick turn around on the rma units that have the screeching sound, and also through in there that this was my second rma. My 1st rma was not for the same problem, and took longer. I would call and ask whats up..

I just got off the phone with Garmin. They've already shipped it back to me! I don't know if it's a new unit or not, but they've shipped it Airborne 2nd day, so I'll have it by Friday. Pretty great service, if you ask me! :D
My NEW 3rd iQue has arrived, all seems well. Everything restored and flashed, Played a 1/4 of a movie with no screeching :)
The unit did not have the RELEASE2 on it, which I called and inquired about. He assured me that I have all the lastest hardware and that all I need was to put release2 on. Which is all done, and so far everything seems good.
Any one sending there units back, make sure you let them know that you are doing 1st day shipping both ways on there dime. If you don't say anything they will do 2 day shipping or even more. I have read many post that people were getting them shipped back 2 day. Both my RMA shippings were 1st day both ways.
Just get there fedex shipping account # when you setup the RMA.
Do you mean they pay for shipping to them?

I have shipped my iQue back to Garmin three times. The first two times it was shipped FedEx overnight both ways on their account.
I just got off the phone with Garmin to find out where my iQue is. A NEW iQue is on its way, but Garmin shipped it back Airborne 2Day this time. I had arranged to have it shipped FedEx overnight when I requested this last RMA but it somehow is now being shipped Airborne.
The good news is if they shipped a complete unit with cradle I will have three cradles. Garmin sent a new cradle to me last time thinking that it was causing the problem.

ZiLT:
I had not had any problems with my iQue for a long time, no hard resets, no squeals, and no problems acquiring sats.
Then the screen went completely white and nothing would correct it. Garmin repaired it but only lasted 3 days before the charging light came on and stayed on no matter whether it was in the cradle or not. Battery drained down very quickly. Again I sent it to Garmin but they did not find anything wrong with it and sent me a new cradle thinking that was the problem. Two days later the light came back on and I called Garmin for a RMA. I left it off overnight and the battery completely drained. When I charged it back up it worked correctly. I called Garmin and told them I was sending it back any they would not see any problems with it when it arrived.
Hopefully the NEW one will be stable and I can start using my PDA again.
