OS 4 upgrade

Hello,

I have just purchased the OS 4 upgrade for my Palm III. The CD arrived and I installed the desktop software without any problems. How ever when I go to try and upgrade the OS on the Palm device it tells me that I have selected the wrong flash file.

I have tried all the different flash files Palm IIIx, Palm V and they all come back with the same error. If I do a advanced upgrade I get past that point even though it stills gives the error but tells me it can't find the conduit on the device. I e-mailed support or said that they would replace my device under warrenty (don't know why my device is like 5 years old) for a refurb model. But there is nothing wrong with it, it has worked fine for years.

I am running OS 3.3 at the moment, has anybody had any problems with this upgrade on a Palm III?

I had the same problem but what I did was to leave the Palm in the cradle!! Follow the prompts which tells you to do a hot sync right after you install desktop. I got my 3c and Vx upgraded form the CD. Just keep working at it. You'll get it soon. It takes about 15 minutes and your screen will look goofy which is normal.

as far as i know the upgrades works fine (mine did) and as said you indeed need to leave the palm in the cradle (i think if you read the diaplayed text it also says so) anyway hope you succeed if not let it know.
