I just purchased a Nokia 3650 with bluetooth capability.

I have been able to transfer images from my 3650 (it has a built-in camera) to my Tungsten T, via bluetooth.

However, I have not been able to get my phone to dial using the TT dialer. I get a message "unable to connect to phone".

Likewise, I have not been able to use the phone to connect to the internet.

Any advice? Am I missing a driver for this phone? (I haven't found anything on the Palm site.

3650 drivers do not come with TT (unlike TT3) You should run the phonelink software on your palm CD, which will guide you to install the drivers for 3650. Then run the phonelink software on your palm to setup your palm to the internet (either GPRS or Datacall).

FYI: if you can not get the drivers for 3650, Nokia 6310i drivers will work fine.

Cheers.

Thanks.

I downloaded the 3650 driver via phone link and I'm now able to dial using my Tungsten (through Phone Dialer or directly through Address Book).

For some reason I'm not able yet to connect for web browsing neither email. It might have to do with the fact that I'm trying to connect as a regular phone call and not as a GPRS data call.

Glad you made it.

That may be the reason. Some service providers (like AT&T) do not allow their clients to use data call. They kinda make you use their expensive GPRS.

I know exactly what you are going through...

Same type deal here. I am using a T|T with the Ericsson t610 (bluetooth/camera enabled also) and I spoke to a T-Mobile support guy to get it working.

You do want to connect as a 'regular phone call' as you referred to it, but do not want to dial a 'regular number.' If you do the following (and assuming you have data usage for your service), it should work:

1. Set up a new connection called 'Bluetooth to phone' and set it to connect to: phone, via: bluetooth, device: (your phone's name), model: standard GSM (this should work, or put in yours if it is available)

2. Set up a new Network Service called 'Bluetooth to phone data' (I use this name so I remember it uses data instead of using my calling minutes). Enter 'a' for both the user name and passwords (otherwise it won't connect...the Palm will be waiting for a password prompt). Use your newly-made 'Bluetooth to phone' connection, and enter the following for the phone number:

*99***1#

Like I said, this SHOULD work, however I have not yet tried it with your model of phone (I think I will this weekend; my brother has that phone), but let me know how it turns out.

PS- by the way, I have a feeling AT&T feels the same way about making money as T-Mobile does...once I told the tech guy that there was no way I would pay $20 a month for internet access, he let me know about this 'loophole,' as he referred to it. Best of luck.

Mavenius,

Do you know if I can have 2 different connections defined in my Tungsten: one using the loophole you described, and one using the GPRS?

I set up my account for GPRS in order to get internet access. I'm paying $6/month for 5 Meg of transfer and thought I could use the "back door" you're suggesting to avoid exceeding that limit.

I am not really sure... as I said, I've not really tried it the other way yet, but it does work the way that I told you. Does it work for you?
