Hi folk,
Since the E doesn't come with ear buds, I did a little searching on various forums and in particular the Ipod forum. I figured if anyone would be picky about their sound, it would be the folk who have shelled out the dough for an Ipod.
As a result, I have located the ultimate set of ear buds for the E and man are they phenomenal!
They are the Phillips HE245. You can get them with or without volume control.
They are hard to find but I found mine at Fry's OutPost ( www.outpost.com). Just search on the model number.
They are a whopping $12.99 with volume control :) yep, twelve ninety-nine!
Look around. You might find them cheaper or even locally, but by all means, if it's ear buds you want for your E, these are the ones!
According to the Ipod folk, they are a well kept secret. Better then the original equipment Ipod buds even.
I've tried a bunch. Even the ones that came with a Sony NX70 I used to own don't compare.
Bass is excellent. These put out a good punch to the sound and great clarity to the high end.
