Hi,

I'm new to Palms having recently retired my Psion 5mx. So far I'm impressed with the "E", but some parts of "G2" are driving me nuts: How do you enter an "l" followed by a <SPACE> without it becomming a "t"?

I've also seen some applications (e.g. PDA Money) where it also seems to get confused; it remembers previous transaction descriptions and if you want to enter a new one that begins with (yes, you've guessed it) a "t" and a previous transaction exists that begins with an "l", it will not give you the opportunity to enter the second stroke to differentiate a "t" from an "l". There is a workaround of course - just use the pop-up keyboard, but maybe there is some other way?

Regards,

Will it help to slow down? dh & I are setting up his shiny new E and I tried using G2 to write an "I" and a "(space)" -- I needed to write the i (1 stroke + 1 dot) in the caps section, then a space (horizontal slash). If I tried to write different letters, like a lower case "L" and a "(space)", it helped to just slow down.

I hope that helps!

Kila
p.s. I like G2 better than G1 but I like my iPaq screen keyboard better now. :)

Thanks for that Kila. Yes, it does help to slow down, but I don't want to ;-)

Actually, I think I might have just discovered a way; do a "l" the usual way and then, to get a space, do the usual horizontal slash but do it ...under where you did the "l" - even letting the pen rest on the frame of the Grafitti area if necessary. Using this method, I can now do an "l" followed by a SPACE without having to wait. Yippee!

Now what do I do with all this extra time I'm going to have ...

Or, if you have an older Palm, convert back to Graffitti 1...
